Ukraine fully restores 474 medical facilities damaged by russia, 383 more are in the process of restoration

Despite the fact that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the russian army has not stopped hitting civilian infrastructure, including medical facilities, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and partners continue to work on restoring Ukrainian hospitals. After all, the state’s priority is to ensure that every Ukrainian has access to the necessary medical services.

These are primarily medical facilities in the de-occupied territories, as well as those that have suffered minor damage, such as broken windows, roof and facade damage, etc.

Since the beginning of the war, 857 medical facilities damaged by russia have been fully or partially restored. Among them: 474 facilities have been fully restored, and another 383 facilities have been partially restored. Most of them are in Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts.

It should be noted that the enemy continues to deliberately and systematically destroy Ukrainian hospitals, clinics, outpatient clinics, maternity, and other medical facilities, as well as terrorize the civilian population, thereby creating an additional burden on the healthcare system. In particular, russian shells and missiles destroyed 195 medical facilities beyond repair. Another 1,508 medical facilities were damaged.

The medical infrastructure of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts suffered the greatest losses. Information on Luhansk oblast is not available in full.

During the full-scale war, the enemy also damaged 103 ambulances, destroyed 256 more vehicles and captured another 125 ambulances.

It should be recalled that the Ministry of Health recently announced the restoration of Hospital No. 1 in Zhytomyr oblast.
