International medical partnership: 25 Ukrainian hospitals have got partners abroad

The International Healthcare Partnership is a project that will be implemented under the auspices of the Third First Ladies and Gentlemen's Summit. This year, the Summit included a Satellite Summit of Ministers of Health from different countries. It was attended by 14 health ministers from around the world. It launched a major project: The International Medical Partnership Program. Hospitals from different parts of Ukraine signed memoranda of cooperation with the world's leading clinics, where they will adopt best practices and share their own. In addition to health ministers from around the world, the summit was also attended by heads of leading hospitals, both Ukrainian and international. "Due to the full-scale war, our medical system is forced to overcome new challenges every day. Russia has already damaged 1427 medical facilities and destroyed another 189. The enemy kills doctors right at their workplace, destroys equipment, and tries to inflict maximum losses on the medical system. That is why today our medical institutions need a reliable shoulder of support more than ever. However, even in such extremely difficult conditions, continuous development is significant for us. The International Medical Partnership Program is a big step in this direction. It involves signing a memorandum of cooperation between specific medical institutions - Ukrainian and foreign. This means that a Ukrainian medical institution will get a "sister" abroad, with whom it will exchange experience, adopt best practices, train doctors, etc.", said Olena Zelenska. A total of 25 agreements on international medical partnerships between Ukrainian and foreign medical institutions were signed during the summit. This means that Ukrainian hospitals will have 25 counterparts in different parts of the world, from Poland to Canada. "No medical system is able to cope with the challenges posed by a full-scale war and the aggressor's cruelty on its own. This is only possible thanks to the reliable support we receive from the entire civilized world. I am confident that the global network of international medical partnerships launched today will continue to expand. More countries and leading medical institutions will join this format of cooperation. This will give another powerful impetus to the development of the medical sector at all levels. A high-quality modern medical system is our goal. Despite all the difficulties, challenges, and conditions, we are moving forward," said Health Minister Viktor Liashko. Eight medical institutions from France, and 2 medical institutions from Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, and North Macedonia each became twinned with Ukrainian hospitals. As well as leading hospitals from Poland, Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, Canada, Israel, and the Netherlands. On the Ukrainian side, medical institutions from Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Zakarpattia regions joined the partnership. Cooperation under the international medical partnership will include: - Engaging foreign specialists to work directly in Ukraine. - Exchange of knowledge and experience during internships. Conducting joint research, scientific and practical conferences, and educational events. - Mentoring and telemedicine consultations. The best specialists from both sides will be able to conduct patient examinations using telemedicine resources. - Writing joint applications for project/research activities, exchange of anonymized data for research, and writing joint scientific publications. For reference: On September 6, the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen took place in Kyiv. At the invitation of First Lady Olena Zelenska, top officials, and opinion leaders from around the world gathered to discuss mental recovery issues for every country and every person. One of the main events of the event was the Satellite Summit of Ministers of Health of different countries, during which the International Medical Partnership Program was launched.
