today, the development and implementation of an effective healthcare reform is centered on the patient with their own needs and interests. patient-centeredness is both a priority and a foundation for high quality, accessible and free healthcare. this was stated by the minister of health of ukraine viktor liashko during the presentation of the pilot project “patient representative”.

Leading French specialists in prosthetics and rehabilitation conduct training for Ukrainian colleagues

25 doctors of physical and rehabilitation medicine from different regions of ukraine are undergoing training with the participation of leading french specialists in prosthetics and rehabilitation from the ugecam nord-est medical association. the training takes place in the format of a professional school, during which participants will listen to theoretical lectures focused on the rehabilitation of people with amputations. each lecture day is followed by a case study and practical exercises.

Over 4,400 war-affected Ukrainians evacuated for treatment abroad

for two years of full-scale war, the ministry of health of ukraine, together with the european commission, who, and other partners, has been organizing evacuation flights for injured ukrainians to be treated abroad.in total, 4,417 people have been evacuated, including patients with mine injuries, those in need of prosthetics, and cancer patients. in addition, more than 600 children with injuries and cancer are among the evacuees.

Backup power during power outages: healthcare facilities in 20 regions of Ukraine received 300 Battery Systems

thanks to the cooperation of the ministry of digital transformation of ukraine and the ministry of health of ukraine with donors, healthcare facilities in 20 regions of ukraine and kyiv received 300 battery systems. the devices will provide hospitals with backup power, so doctors will be able to continue saving lives even during power outages or power cuts.

In 2023, 19,851 people fell ill with tuberculosis in Ukraine

despite the full-scale war, the ukrainian healthcare system continues to provide patients with access to free diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis. according to the center for public health, in 2023, 19,851 cases of active tuberculosis were registered in our country, of which 639 were among children under 14 and 196 among adolescents aged 15-17.

EU and UNDP provide Ukraine with specially equipped vehicles for palliative care
