the cabinet of ministers of ukraine has approved a draft order of the president of ukraine to sign a grant agreement in the amount of usd 10 million to provide funding for the project “strengthening the healthcare system and saving life” (heal ukraine). of these, usd 5 million will be used to improve the processes of providing rehabilitation and mental health services. another usd 5 million will be spent on restoring the provision of medical services in hospitals affected by the war.

on 5 may last year, due to a full-scale russian invasion, president volodymyr zelenskyy announced the launch of a fundraising platform united24 to support ukraine. so, for 12 months, almost uah 1.4 billion was raised to meet the needs of healthcare (as of 05.05.2023). the funds are transferred to a special account of the national bank of ukraine assigned to the ministry of health.
